The Joker

When I said I loved you... you said,"GO AWAY!"
I turned...tripped..stumbled and fell flat on the floor,
You laughed and said,"Hey Joker, you can stay...
... as long as you've got any such tricks in your store!"

I said,"Baby! You can have my heart!"
You said,"Don't bore me... Quick! I leave if you dont start!"
I went out and asked people for help.
N learnt how to make people laugh n
picked up every tool from the comedian's shelf.

The show began and the curtains signalled to raise,
Audience was you and I dressed up like a joker with a comic face.
My heart wanted to cry then remembered I was supposed to make someone laugh,
I pulled out the tricks... became a giant n sometimes a dwarf.
It was decided... I was to stay, as long as you laughed.

"Surprise! Surprise can you guess what I would say,
There are no prizes just excitement... Guess if you may!"
You sat there wondering where that joker was before,
I feared you were bored so shouted,"Hold on.. I've got more.. I've got more!"

I practiced at night, performed during the day,
My heart wanted to open wide,
But I was even happy as a joker to be by your side,
So sealed it with tears and thats where the feelings lay.

I was a Joker now and acted no more a Lover,
She puzzled over my past n the surprises she was to discover,
I dared not say it and you wondered,"Did you really love me?"
"Oh!! This joker can even romance you.. you just sit and enjoy.. dont bother about the fee!"

A year passed by but then the time came,
When I couldnt hold but say I love you.... and then jumped and fell,
Thought you would laugh but your face remained same,
You wondered,"Is he the lover or the joker, can I ever tell?"

I shouted,"No I really love you....
"This Joker is me too... but I did everything for you..."
And then came by a man who said,"Hey, who's this guy? We getting late for the coffee, shall we go?"
You got up and said,"Ohh he's...he's a Joker...I m done here..Lets go!"

I stood there not knowing whether to laugh or cry watching you go,
You stop at the corner, turn back n shout,"Oh I'm sorry Joker..I gotta go.. btw that was quite a GOOD SHOW!"
